Picking the Right Agent

The very important task of picking the right real estate agent can be made a bit easier by sticking to some basic ideas.  First, the agent should be active and familiar with the neighborhood (ex. Old Mountain View, Baron Park, Sunnyvale, etc.)  Second, the agent should be knowledgeable in neighborhood trends, prices, time on market, financing, etc.  Third, the agent should be experienced in needed upgrades and recovery of cost at sale (for example, will giving the house a new coat of paint likely lead to a good return on the investment?).  Forth, agent should be able to assist in your next step: new purchase, downsizing, renting and so on.  Fifth, the agent should be able to estimate the cost of sale, upgrades and repairs and give you a good estimate of funds at closing.

All these items- and more- point to the greatest truth: Experience Counts!!!
